TROUTDALE, OR (KPTV) -

One arrest has been made in connection with an attempted carjacking in Troutdale.

Police said the female victim was waiting at a stop light at NE 238th Drive and I-84 when a white car pulled alongside her. When she glanced over, the driver of the van was smiling and laughing inside the vehicle. It was then that she said a male passenger jumped out of the van and tried to open her vehicle's door. At that time, the light changed to green and she sped away.

After calling police, officers launched a search for the suspect vehicle. Troutdale police checked the area and came across the white van leaving a Motel 6 parking lot and pulled it over.

Inside, they found Joshua Trea Neloms, 27, of Jacksonville, FL.

Neloms is charged with attempted robbery and disorderly conduct.
