ALOHA, OR (KPTV) -
A Washington County sheriff's deputy involved in the shooting of a man who died outside an Aloha home has been identified.

Deputy Brian McLeod, a 12-year veteran with the sheriff's office, responded to a report of a domestic disturbance Sunday in the 6700 block of Southwest 180th Avenue.

When deputies arrived, they encountered 52-year-old Robert Fox exiting the home with a high-powered rifle, the sheriff's office said.

Witnesses said they heard deputies ordering Fox to drop the rifle, and McLeod shot Fox once in front of the home.

"Police told him to drop it probably a dozen times and he didn't drop it, and then I heard a gunshot," said neighbor Steve Vass.

Fox was pronounced dead at the scene.

McLeod is on administrative leave while the investigation into the incident continues.
