PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -
Sex crimes detectives arrested a man accused of breaking into a northeast Portland home and exposing himself to a sleeping woman.
Police said they tied 35-year-old Juan Lagunas-Garcia to two other break-ins, one on Cherry Blossom Drive in May of last year and one at 112th Avenue and Southeast Division in August of last year. The victims in those cases were 14 and 17 years old.
He was arraigned Friday afternoon on charges including sex abuse, strangulation and burglary, in connection with all three cases.
Lagunas-Garcia used open, first-floor windows to gain entry to each home, police said.
Authorities released a sketch and surveillance video of a possible suspect vehicle after the most recent break-in on Northeast Davis Street, May 31st. According to investigators, the victim woke up to find the victim next to her bed, exposing himself and touching himself.
Police said tips from the community, DNA evidence and diligent detective work helped them crack the case.
Sex crimes detectives say the most recent break-in was connected to the 112th and Division case by DNA evidence.
Fox 12 spoke to the teen victim in the 112th case shortly after the alleged attack last August. She said she awoke to find a strange man in a mask standing over her bed, with his hands on her neck.
Police say as they continue to investigate, the suspect, Lagunas-Garcia, may face additional charges.
Lagunas-Garcia is being held at the Multnomah County Jail. He's expected back in court later this month.
FOX 12 will have an update on this story on tonight's 5 p.m. News.
