REDDING, CA (KPTV) -
Police in Redding, California arrested a Hillsboro, Oregon man in connection with a deadly stabbing.
Redding police say that Cody Nash confessed to the stabbing that happened Friday.
That stabbing left Candice Watson, 66, dead and Lynn "Robert" Watson in intensive care.
Officers arrived at the home at about 5:30 Friday morning.
They found Lynn Watson lying in a neighbor's yard, suffering from a number of cuts to his upper body. He was unable to speak and emergency crews rushed him to a local hospital.
Police then found Candice Watson in the garage. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officer also found Cody Nash, 30, inside the home. Crews took him to a separate area hospital with cuts to his hands.
Nash was later booked into the Shasta County Jail.
Police say he confessed to the murder of Candice and to the attempted murder of Lynn.
Investigators say Nash is Candice's nephew and that his motive for the attacks is still unclear.
Nash now faces charges of murder, attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon.
The investigation is ongoing.
The crime scene is being investigating by the Redding Police Department Crime Scene Unit and the California Department of Justice.
