PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -
The driver of a car that was hit by a MAX train in north Portland Saturday night was driving under the influence, according to police.
Alexander Redden, 20, told officers that his car's brakes locked up while it was sitting in the middle of the track at the intersection of North Holman Street and Interstate Avenue.
The MAX train hit the car broadside and pushed it about 40 feet before coming to a stop.
Redden was arrested and charged with DUI, reckless endangerment and criminal mischief.
No one was injured in the incident.
