Students in Summer Reading Program get free ticket to Blazers game

PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

Every student who signs up for the Summer Reading Program through the Multnomah County Library will get a free ticket voucher to a Portland Trail Blazers game.

In addition, the first 3,000 children to sign up for a Multnomah County library card this summer will get a ticket voucher to a Blazers preseason game.

The announcements were made at the Summer Reading Tip-Off at Midland Library in Portland on Monday.

That's where the Blazers, the Multnomah County Library and state superintendent of public instruction Susan Castillo kicked off the statewide youth literacy event.

The Summer Reading Program is open to kids of all ages. Anyone who has not signed up through school may do so at a neighborhood library beginning June 15.
