PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -
A woman accused in a deadly hit-and-run accident on West Burnside is now back in Portland.
Ashley Chavez was transferred from the Clark County Jail to the Multnomah County Jail on Tuesday morning.
U.S. Marshals arrested her in Bellingham, WA, on June 1, in connection with the death of Nancy Schoeffler, who was hit and killed while walking on West Burnside in March.
Chavez was first moved from Bellingham to the King County Jail in Seattle, then to the Clark County Jail on Monday before arriving in Portland. She is expected in court on Wednesday.
Portland police also arrested Chavez's suspected passenger, her boyfriend and her brother. The trio are accused of trying to help cover up the crime.
