VANCOUVER, WA (KPTV) -

The community is invited to come dedicate a Vancouver park on Saturday.

Luke Jensen Sports Park is located on Northeast 78th Street in the Hazel Dell neighborhood. It honors Jensen, who was a student at King's Way Christian School. He died from leukemia at the age of 9, in May 2010.

The ceremony on Saturday will begin at 8:45 a.m. with a flag raising in memory of U.S. Army Corporal Jeremiah Johnson, who played T-ball at the sports park as a child then went on to play baseball for Prairie High School. In December 2006, he was injured while serving in Iraq and died ten days later.

Dedication organizers say in addition to the flag ceremony, the day will also include presence by a color guard from Veterans of Foreign Wars Vancouver Post 7824.

Performing "The Star-Spangled Banner" will be Britnee Kellogg, a contestant of "American Idol" and singer with 5 Guys Named Moe.

Games of baseball, kickball and soccer are also planned.
