Toddler "lucky to be alive" after window fall

TUALATIN, OR (KPTV) -

Rescuers said a local toddler is lucky to be alive, after falling out of a second story window.

The 911 call came in at 11 a.m. on the 1700 block of Northwest Jolie Place. Tualatin Valley firefighters arrived to find the 18-month-old girl had landed on bark dust and pavement, but only sustained minor injuries. She was taken to hospital for further examination.

The parents told firefighters that the girl was in an upstairs bedroom with her mom at the time. The girl leaned against the window screen, which then came loose, and she fell through.
