SALEM, OR (KPTV) -
Salem firefighters battled a three-alarm fire at an apartment complex near the intersection of Market Street Northeast and Evergreen Avenue Northeast at about 7 p.m. Tuesday night.
The cause is still unknown, but they believe it may have started in a first floor unit.
Four to five people had to be taken to Salem Hospital for smoke inhalation. One man suffered a fractured ankle from jumping out of a second story window.
The Red Cross is taking the displaced victims to temporary housing.
