CORVALLIS, OR (KPTV) -
Oregon State University's Open Source Lab has an extra $300,000 to work with, thanks to Google.
The university announced the tech company's donation on Wednesday.
The lab provides web hosting services used by several high-profile open source projects and communities. Workers said the money represents Google's ongoing support of the lab.
OSU said the lab is also working provide technological support to many under-served communities worldwide, as well as create new local projects.
Google's donation is part of the The Campaign for OSU, which has raised more than $825 million for things like research projects and student opportunities.
