Highway 30 closed east of Astoria due to fatal crash

ASTORIA, OR (KPTV) -

State police are investigating a fatal, head-on crash on Highway 30 about 12 miles east of Astoria.

The head-on collision shortly after 9 a.m. involving a commercial truck and another vehicle.

The highway is closed and a detour has been set up at the crash scene near Svensen. It takes drivers onto old Highway 30.

ODOT expects the closure to be lengthy and officials said drivers should expect delays.
