The U.S. Olympic trials are set to begin in Eugene, and police say not only will the event attract athletes and fans, but it may also attract crime.
The trials begin June 21 and run through July 1 at Eugene's Hayward Field, but police say people should be cautious all around the city. They say they saw an increase in crime during the 2008 Olympic trials and they are hoping to keep that from happening this year.
Police say everyone is responsible for reporting crimes and that they should be on alert.
You should call police if you see or hear anything suspicious.
