PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -
Police want to know who started a fire at a park in northwest Portland.
Neighbors discovered smoke and flames at Terra Linda Park on NW Pettygrove on Monday morning.
Firefighters responded to the scene and doused a play structure in flame-retardant foam. The fire destroyed one of the playground toys.
What was left of the play structure has since been removed from the park.
Investigators determined the cause of the fire was arson.
Managers with Tualatin Hills Parks and Recreation estimate the damage at $19,000.
