WASHINGTON COUNTY, OR (KPTV) -
A Washington County man who sexually abused children he was babysitting has been sentenced to more than 56 years in prison.
William Gaskin was sentenced Tuesday.
His girlfriend, Desiree Chapman, is also facing charges in this case but has not gone to trial.
Detectives said Gaskin was watching a 3-year-old girl in April 2011 when an adult walked in on the abuse.
That person reported the incident to the child's mother, who then called deputies.
Detectives said they found evidence of additional abuse in Gaskin's apartment after the father of another girl came forward a few months later.
