SUTHERLIN, OR (AP) -
Authorities say it appears that a Southern Oregon man in his 80s who suffered from dementia and Parkinson's disease died for lack of care because his caretaker, a woman in her 60s, had died several days earlier.
The Roseburg News-Review reports (http://bit.ly/LdiPeL) the two bodies were found Monday in the Douglas County town Sutherlin after relatives reported being unable to contact the two people.
Neither was identified because police don't consider it a criminal case.
Sgt. Justin Marquis says the woman died of natural causes linked to diabetes.
Marquis says the man was unable to get help or feed himself. He says the medical examiner didn't specify whether the man died of starvation or dehydration.
