VANCOUVER, WA (KPTV) -
If you see Max Aguirre at a Timbers game this year, make sure you compliment him not only on his knowledge of Portland's MLS team, but also his pizza skills. Aguirre's pizza recipe beat out more than 100 others to capture Papa Murphy's top prize for its contest to design a Timbers-inspired pie.
And this Sunday, the same day the Timbers host their rivals from Seattle, Papa Murphy's stores throughout the area will be debuting the new pizza.
Curious about what's on it?
The Lumberjack Pizza starts with Papa Murphy's freshly made original crust topped with traditional red sauce and a generous amount of mozzarella cheese. It is then layered with salami, pepperoni, spinach, sun dried tomatoes, marinated artichoke hearts and green peppers. Finally the pizza is finished with a blend of freshly grated mozzarella and cheddar cheeses.
And you can pick up a large for $10 at any one of Papa Murphy's Portland and southwest Washington locations from June 24 through Sept. 3.
