A shooting in Spokane left one man dead and two sheriff's deputies injured.
It all started just before 5 p.m. Tuesday during a traffic stop. Deputies said Charles R. Wallace opened fire on two deputies then car-jacked another vehicle and took off – sparking a massive search.
Authorities eventually tracked down the get-a-away car, but they said Wallace hit the brakes and then shot himself. They said Wallace was awaiting trial on heroin charges and had an extensive criminal history.
The deputies involved in the shooting are in the hospital. They are expected to recover.
