ASTORIA, OR (KPTV) -
A judge is expected to hear new arguments Thursday regarding the case of an Astoria teen accused of planning a school shooting last year.
Investigators say the 16-year-old student tried to convince another teen to help him shoot students at Astoria High School.
The teen pleaded guilty in April, but his attorney says he is now withdrawing that plea in favor of an insanity defense. In a letter to prosecutors sent earlier this month, the defense says the results of a psychiatric evaluation prompted the plea change.
The teen was originally scheduled to be sentenced Thursday.
