PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -
A burglar who broke into a Portland-area home helped police arrest a man accused of having child pornography on his computer, authorities said.
Police said Brian Branigan reported his laptop stolen after the burglary.
The thief responsible apparently found child porn on the computer and turned it over to police, officers said.
When officers contacted Branigan to tell him they found his laptop, they also confronted him about the child pornography and arrested him.
Branigan now faces 10 counts of first-degree encouraging child sex abuse and 10 counts of second-degree encouraging child sex abuse.
He was arraigned Wednesday and his bail was set at $250,000.
