CORNELIUS, OR (KPTV) -
Investigators are trying to figure out what started a greenhouse fire at a nursery near Cornelius.
The fire happened Thursday at the Blooming Nursery on SW Golf Course Rd. Crews arrived to find a massive amount of black smoke coming from the nursery. They were able to knock down the flames quickly and remained on scene for about an hour, extinguishing hot spots and removing unstable propane tanks.
The area that was damaged was used for the process of stemming the plants for the nursery. There was also a mechanical room and break room in this section.
The fire is estimated to have caused about $30,000 in damage and possibly delayed the production of plants.
No one was inside at the time of the fire.
