A boating trip off the coast of Grays Harbor, WA, took a desperate turn Thursday after a yacht went up in flames about 20 miles from shore.
The three people on board the 52-foot recreational vessel Miss Kelly were rescued by the crew of a nearby fishing vessel, and later flown to safety by the U.S. Coast Guard.
The people on the boat were then taken to a Coast Guard station in Westport.
No injuries were reported.
The boat sank with about 600 gallons of diesel on board.
The Coast Guard is monitoring any environmental hazards.
