PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -
A brazen home invasion in a quiet Portland neighborhood has Washington County deputies actively searching for three male suspects.
It all happened just before 4 p.m. Friday afternoon on the 5000 block of Northwest 181st place in Portland.
Deputies said the victims did not recognize their attackers, and that it's possible the suspects chose the family at random.
"It's just so bold, and it's frightening how desperate and aggressive they were to do in the middle of the day," said neighbor Beth Boyer.
Deputies said the three men forced their way into the home by smashing in the back sliding glass door.
Deputies say there were two people inside of the home at the time of the break in. The suspects tied one of them up, while they stole some jewelry and cash, and then took off.
"It's crazy, there's a KinderCare right behind their home, and a big playground around back where there are lots of kids," said neighbor Michelle Holmes.
"I don't know if the suspects left on foot, or by car, but it's kind of nerve-racking."
Deputies set up a perimeter several blocks wide, and searched the Rock Creek Neighborhood for hours using their K9-unit, but were unable to find any sign of the suspects.
Deputies said no one was hurt in the home invasion.
"I was very frightened, I was here all day with my children, I couldn't imagine if someone came into our house, it's horrifying they came that close," said Boyer.
The suspects were described by the victims as three black men. All three were around 6'2".
Two were wearing an all dark blue uniform with a delivery cap and shorts. The other suspect was wearing a striped polo shirt and had a goatee.
Deputies said it's not known if the suspects are armed.
