PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -
The Portland Timbers-Seattle Sounders rivalry returns to Portland on Sunday afternoon.
The Cascadia Cup rivalry dates back nearly 40 years and is considered one of the fiercest rivalries in the MLS.
The Timbers have yet to beat the Sounders in regular season MLS play. The Timbers managed to tie Seattle at Quest field last season, before losing to the Sounders at home.
The Timbers are also coming off a loss to the L. A Galaxy, and have failed to score in four of their last six games. They are currently at the bottom of the western conference table with just 13 points in 13 games.
Meanwhile, the Sounders are in the midst of a club record six-game winless streak. Still, they are currently in fourth place in the western conference, 11 points ahead of the Timbers, with 24 points.
Kick off is at 2 p.m. at Jeld-Wen field.
