PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -
The City of Portland Bureau of Transportation said that lane closures, which began today, will continue until Friday on Northeast Marine Drive between Northeast 33rd Avenue and Northeast 122nd Avenue.
The lane closures will be in place from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. each weekday for street grinding and paving. One travel lane in one direction will remain open at all times with flaggers.
The Bureau of Transportation said delays up to 20 minutes are possible and advised motorists to travel cautiously while flaggers direct traffic through the work zone. They also recommend using alternate routes if possible. Local access to residences and businesses will be provided.
In addition, a full closure at the same location will be necessary over the weekend of June 23-24 from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday for paving.
Detour signs will direct westbound traffic southbound on Northeast 122nd Avenue to westbound on Sandy Boulevard to westbound on Columbia Boulevard. Eastbound traffic will be detoured southbound on NE 33rd Avenue to eastbound on Columbia Boulevard.
Access to businesses will be provided on Northeast Marine Drive from Northeast 33rd Avenue to the Gleason Boat Ramp and Broughton Beach.
