SHERIDAN, OR (AP) -
A pickup truck driver was killed in a collision with a church bus near Sheridan, but Oregon State Police say no one on the bus was injured.
Police say the pickup driver, 73-year-old Lester J. Lindberg of Grand Ronde, drifted onto the shoulder of Highway 18 Sunday afternoon and was trying to regain control on the highway when he collided with the bus. He died at the scene.
Police say the bus driver, an adult chaperone and nine pre-teen children on the Newberg Christian Church bus were not hurt. They were on their way to a church camp on the coast. Parents and other church members picked up the children.
