VANCOUVER, WA (KPTV) -

A Vancouver smoke shop lost thousands of dollars of merchandise over the weekend after a burglar ransacked the store.

Someone broke into Smokin' J's on northeast 117th Avenue at 12:30 a.m. Sunday. Surveillance video shows the man using an object to smash the glass of the front door. It shattered, but didn't break. Then, he used his foot to punch through the glass and crawled inside the business.

The manager said he proceeded to break glass display cases and made off with several pipes valued at nearly $700 each.

"It's frustrating, needless to say, and it's a little hard (to deal with)," said manager Jeff Gauthier. "You feel like someone is stealing straight from you rather than the place where you work."

The Clark County Sheriff's Office is investigating. Deputies said the burglar cut himself on the glass and left behind some blood.
