Vancouver Police Dept. introduces K-9 officer teams

VANCOUVER, WA (KPTV) -

The Vancouver Police Department held a special graduation ceremony to introduce three newly certified K-9 teams.

The department recognized VPD K-9 Ike and his handler Officer Jack Anderson, VPD K-9 Ory and his handler Officer Ryan Starbuck and Skamania County Sheriff's Office K-9 Arai and his handler Deputy Russ Hastings Monday afternoon at Vancouver City Hall.

The dogs and their handlers completed 400 hours of training and have now graduated from their initial training program.

The ceremony also marked the retirement of VPD K-9 Kenai, handled by Officer Todd Schwartz.
