A child in Happy Valley fell 15 feet from a second-story window Monday night.
Witnesses said they saw the 4-year-old kicking the screen inside a home on 156th Avenue at around 6:15 p.m.
The screen gave way and the child fell to the ground.
A neighbor called 911 to report the fall and paramedics arrived to find the child crying on the ground.
The parents were downstairs preparing dinner, according to investigators.
The child used a bunk bed set positioned near the window to climb up on the window sill.
The child was taken to Oregon Health & Science University and was listed in stable condition Monday night.
