GRESHAM, OR (KPTV) -
Clear surveillance video released Tuesday shows a man who police said robbed a Key Bank branch in Gresham.
The robbery happened Monday at the Key Bank branch at 1532 NE 181st Ave. just before 12:30 p.m.
That's when a man entered the bank and handed over a demand note to the bank teller. The note indicated he was armed with a weapon and that the teller should dump money into a black Jansport backpack, police said.
He then left the bank and headed north between buildings east of 181st Avenue. A getaway car was never seen, but detectives said it's likely one was used to help him escape.
Before the robbery took place, the man stopped by a nearby coffee stand, purchased a cup of coffee and said he was from Wisconsin and was in town visiting friends.
Police describe the suspect as white and 6'3" tall with a thin build and brown hair. During the robbery, he wore a black sweatshirt with a distinctive logo on it, which is clearly seen in the video.
Anyone with information on the man's whereabouts is asked to call 503-618-2365.
