New York students accused of throwing trash in 9/11 memorial pool

NEW YORK (FOX) -

Some students in New York are accused of throwing trash into the pools at the World Trade Center Memorial.

The Department of Education is now investigating a group of students from Brooklyn who they said were caught on surveillance video. The video has not yet been released.

Visitors at the site said they were shocked at the allegation.

"I think it's a disgrace. Really, there should have been a little more supervision. Everybody has loved ones that were there and I don't think there was proper supervision," said Joseph Cocco, a Sept. 11 survivor.

The principal of the Brooklyn high school in question has issued a letter of apology to the 9-11 Memorial Museum.
