Police still don't know identity of woman found dead at Washington Park

PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

Detectives hope a photo of a sweatshirt similar to the one worn by a woman found dead in Washington Park on Tuesday will help them learn her identity.

An autopsy performed Wednesday was unable to determine the woman's identity or cause of death.

There are also no recent missing persons cases that match the physical description of the woman.

She was found dead by a ranger in a secluded, wooded area within the park. Sgt. Pete Simpson said it's an area that transients frequent.

A spokesman with Portland Parks told FOX 12 that rangers found a vacant campsite in the same area about 10 days ago, returned today to check on it and discovered the body.

The woman is described as white, 5'3" tall and 100 pounds with long black hair. She has no scars, marks or tattoos.

Anyone with information about the woman's identity or the circumstances surrounding her death is asked to call Detective Molly Daul at 503-823-0991.
