PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -
A $12 million measure that could help fund the arts in Portland is one step closer to landing on the November ballot.
On Wednesday, the Portland City Council voted unanimously to put the proposal on the ballot. Opponents have seven business days to challenge the wording on the measure.
Mayor Sam Adams initiated the plan, which would annually cost taxpayers about $35 each. The money would primarily go toward hiring more art and music teachers at Portland elementary schools.
