Organic beer festival on tap this weekend

PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

The North American Organic Brewers Festival, the world's largest organic beer festival, will serve up 60 organic beers and cider from 40 breweries this weekend in Portland.

Beer styles run the gamut -- from Belgian whites to Cascadian darks -- and there will also be local music, organic food and sustainability-oriented vendors and nonprofit groups.

A soda garden with complimentary Crater Lake Root Beer will be on site for minors and designated drivers. There will also be a children's area with face painting and other activities.

The festival runs from noon to 9 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday. It's being held at Overlook Park, which is located at the intersection of N Fremont St. and N Interstate Ave. in Portland.

Admission into the event is free. The purchase of a $6 reusable glass is required for tasting beer and beer tasting tokens sell for $1 apiece. A full glass costs four tokens.
