Enjoying the Independence Day festivities down on Portland's waterfront will be easier, thanks to added TriMet service.
The agency says service will be adjusted on the holiday to accommodate people heading out to see the fireworks. MAX trains will run on Saturday schedules and buses will be on Sunday schedules. The WES Commuter Rail, however, will not be in service that day.
Buses and trains are expected to be crowded on the holiday due to the downtown fireworks show, as well as the Waterfront Blues Festival and the international convention of the Barbershop Harmony Society. Riders should expect delays and plan accordingly.
