THE DALLES, OR (KPTV) -
Crews from more than 15 different agencies are in the final stages of putting out a wildfire in The Dalles.
Firefighters and emergency crews managed to contain the Chenowith Rim Fire on Monday.
They set up 300-foot perimeter and will work today to extinguish hot spots.
Shirley Mitchell lives near the fire.
She told Fox 12, "This is the fourth time I've been through it, and the firemen did a really good job. They got it under control, they worked late into the night, it was 12:30 and I still saw them with lights up on top."
The fire scorched about 70 acres, but no buildings were damaged.
The cause is still under investigation.
