Plastic problem prompts dog food recall - KPTV - FOX 12

Mars Petcare announced a voluntary recall of three types of Pedigree canned dog food products because of a potential choking risk.
The company said there could be small pieces of blue plastic in the food and there is a risk your dog could choke. The company said it has not received any reports of injury or illness associated with the affected product.
The recall only involves Pedigree weight management canned dog food. Each product will have a lot code printed on the end of the can that begins with 209, 210, 211 or 212 and a Best Before date that falls between 2/24/2014 and 3/23/2014.
Mars Petcare is working with distributors and stores across the United States to make sure the recalled products are no longer sold and are removed from inventory.
