PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

A man faces charges after an early morning chase with police in Southeast Portland.

Officers arrested Damon Jeffry Davis, 30, on Tuesday. They say it all began when they tried to stop a car driven by Davis at Southeast 86th Avenue and Knapp Street just after 2 a.m. but that he sped off.

Police went after the car until it crashed into a parked car and a pickup at Southeast 58th Drive and Johnson Creek Boulevard. Officers say Davis tried to run away but was caught.

A search of Davis' car uncovered drugs and a gun. Police booked Davis into the Multnomah County Jail on drug charges relating to heroin and cocaine, felon in possession of a firearm and other charges. He is being held on $127,500 bail.
