PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

Portland Police Bureau robbery detectives arrested 24-year-old Baylen Luis Parada in connection with two armed robberies Tuesday afternoon.

Detectives said numerous tips to their Crime Stoppers hotline assisted them in locating Parada.

He was arrested  just after 12:30 p.m. in his vehicle by members of the Special Emergency Reaction Team (SERT) at the intersection of Northeast Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Morris Street.

Police said on June 28, 2012, Parada used a knife to rob the Pizza Hut located at 611 Northeast 82nd Ave.

On July 2, 2012, Parada used a firearm to rob the Fastrak Food Mart located at 2431 Northeast Broadway, police said.

Detectives believe that Parada is involved in nine additional robberies between June 24 and July 2, 2012.

Detectives recovered a replica gun in the vehicle that they suspect was used in several of the robberies.

Parada was booked into the Multnomah County Jail on charges of robbery in the first degree and robbery in the second degree.

Additional robbery charges are expected.
