VANCOUVER, WA (KPTV) -
A boy scout is recovering at a Vancouver hospital after falling on Mt. Saint Helens, according to North County EMS.
Emergency crews responded to the mountain after receiving 9-1-1 calls indicating the 14-year-old boy slipped in some snow while climbing Wednesday and fell an unknown distance, investigators said.
According to witnesses at the scene, the boy hit his head and shoulder on a rock and briefly lost consciousness, but was alert when he was taken off the mountain by rescue crews.
At last word, the boy was in stable condition at Peace Health SW Washington Medical Center in Vancouver.
