PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

A drive-by shooting in a north Portland neighborhood late Wednesday night is one of three gang-related shootings that took place in an eight-hour span, police said.

Officers said a group of people, including five to six children under the age of 10 years old, was standing on the corner of Fiske and Fessenden streets just before 10:30 p.m. While they were lighting and watching fireworks, a car with three people inside drove by and multiple shots were fired at the group.

One woman was wounded in the shooting, and she's believed to have life-threatening injuries, police said. An updated condition was not available Thursday morning.

The shooters drove off westbound on Fessenden Street, police said.

In addition, detectives learned someone from the group watching fireworks returned fire as the car drove off. That person ran off northbound on Fiske Street and hasn't been found or identified.

The crime is one of three gang-related shootings that took place on the Fourth of July and overnight.

One man was wounded in a shooting at a car wash at Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Jarrett Street at about 4:40 p.m.

A third shooting took place at 82nd Avenue and Powell Boulevard, where a man was shot in the foot. Police said the shooting was reported shortly after midnight.
