CORBETT, OR (KPTV) -
Oregon State Police troopers are investigating a deadly head-on crash on Interstate 84.
The crash happened just before midnight Friday on I-84 east of Corbett that killed a woman and seriously hurt a man.
Troopers said James Schneider, 53, was driving east on I-84 near milepost 23 and following another driver. The driver in front swerved to avoid a wrong-way driver.
Schneider's pickup truck then collided head-on with a 2007 Kia Rio that was heading west in the eastbound lanes, investigators said.
Crews pronounced the Kia's woman driver dead at the scene. Troopers said she was wearing her seat belt and the airbags went off.
Emergency crews took Schneider to OHSU with serious injuries. Troopers say he was also wearing his seat belt and his airbags went off as well.
Authorities got at least one complaint of a wrong-way driver in the area before the crash happened.
OSP troopers are investigating. They are not currently releasing the woman driver's name.
