Explosive device found on Highway 213

SILVERTON, OR (KPTV) -

The Oregon State Police Bomb Squad had to stop traffic on Highway 213 at Mount Angel-Scotts Mill Road on Sunday evening while they investigated a suspicious device that was found there.

A passer-by spotted the device, which was described as a bottle with foil on top of it and a fuse, and called 911.

The bomb squad destroyed the device without incident. No evacuations were necessary.
