PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -
Portland police identified a suspect in an armed robbery Monday as 23-year-old Tyler Brant.
A three-hour long standoff with Brant came to a bizarre end at a Southeast Portland garden shed.
Police said the suspect broke into the shed on SE 104th and Boise Street, after robbing a home several blocks away on the 10000 block of Pardee Street.
Police said Brant walked into the home on Southeast Pardee just after 1 p.m. Monday, and tried to swipe any valuables he could find.
He was caught by the homeowner's friend, red-handed.
"I
told him he wasn't going anywhere with those things, and I was standing
in front of the door, and I wasn't going to let him go," said the
female victim, who wanted to remain anonymous.
"He pushed me a couple times, pulled out the gun and then put it in my face, that's when I backed up."
Witnesses
told FOX 12 the suspect took off running down Pardee Street hopping
over fences, all while recklessly waving his handgun.
Brant now faces charges of first-degree burglary and robbery.
