Vancouver's police chief to resign

Posted: Updated:
VANCOUVER, WA (KPTV) -

After five years at the helm, Vancouver's chief of police is stepping down.

Clifford Cook will officially resign Sept. 1.

Cook and Vancouver city manager Eric Holmes say they came to the decision together, agreeing that a change in leadership is the next step forward for the police department.

A search for a new chief will begin once a temporary replacement is announced.
