NEWPORT, OR (KPTV) -
Newport police arrested two people accused of stealing a gym bag.
It happened at Me Fitness Center on Southwest 10th Street.
Investigators said a male and a female suspect took a gym bag and drove away.
Officers said they found Allen Codwallader and Chrystal Wright with the stolen bag in their car.
Police arrested Codwallader for theft and an outstanding parole violation warrant.
They said Wright complained of chest pain and difficulty breathing and was taken to the hospital where she ran away from paramedics.
She was found hiding in a restaurant nearby.
Wright is facing several charges including theft, giving false information to a police officer and felony driving while suspended/revoked.
Police said Wright also had three felony warrants out for her arrest.
