SALEM, OR (KPTV) -
An inmate made a brief getaway Monday.
Around 11:45 a.m. Steve Corbett simply walked away from his work crew in Salem. He was working along with other inmates at the Department of Corrections' main administration building when he made the slip.
But Corbett's short taste of freedom came to an end when someone spotted him and called police. He was arrested at 12:30 p.m., just 45 minutes after he walked away from the crew.
Corbett has been serving time since April on theft and meth possession charges. His earliest release date is July 12, 2013.
