PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -
A judge has lowered the bail for a key suspect in a deadly hit-and-run case.
The bail for Joshua Chavez is now at $100,000.
He is the brother of Ashley Chavez, who is accused of hitting and killing Nancy Schoeffler in Burnside on March 31.
If he is able to post bail, Chavez will be under strict supervision.
He will be supervised by a deputy and will not be allowed to have any contact with his parents or his girlfriend.
Additionally, he will have to wear a tracking bracelet on his ankle.
Six people face charges in the case that deputies call an elaborate conspiracy to cover up the crime.
They have each pleaded not guilty, including Joshua Chavez.
