Lakeside, OR (KPTV) -
One person died and three others were injured in a multi-vehicle crash on Highway 101 in the Lakeside area Tuesday afternoon.
Oregon State Police said a trooper attempted to stop a vehicle for a speed violation northbound on Highway 101 near milepost 229. The driver failed to yield and attempted to elude the trooper northbound for about seven miles before being involved in a collision with four other cars on the Ten Mile Creek Bridge near milepost 222.
The driver of the eluding vehicle was pronounced deceased at the scene. Three other people were transported to area hospitals with unknown injuries.
The Coos County Crash Team is the lead investigating agency and is being assisted by the Oregon State Police and the Coos County District Attorney's Office.
