PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

The stepmother of Kyron Horman is trying to keep her biological son off the witness stand in an upcoming civil case.

Terri Horman filed a motion Monday in hopes of preventing her 17-year-old from testifying should the plaintiff's side keep him on the witness list in the civil lawsuit.

Desiree Young, Kyron's biological mother, filed a $10 million lawsuit against Terri Horman last month, alleging custodial interference and emotional distress.

Kyron Horman vanished from Skyline School on June 4, 2010. His disappearance prompted the largest search in state history, but he still hasn't been found.

At a news conference in June, Young said she believes "Terri Horman knows where Kyron is."

"I believe that Terri Horman is responsible for where my son is. The time has come for Terri to accept responsibility for what she has done," she said.

Terri Horman has refused to speak about the case in the past and can plead the fifth in a civil case.
